Spring in the Rocky Mountains

Spring in the Rocky Mountains is a time when life begins!  Old Man Winter is struggling to hold on to his icy grip while the gentle rays of sunshine slowly force him to release; the flora and fauna rejoice.  The water begins to trickle and eventually flows once the ice disappears.  Plants turn a wonderful shade of green and some animals begin to wake up, while others become more lively as food is abundant and the thought of starvation is no longer present.  To hike in the mountains and experience nature in the spring is a wonderful experience!  New life is beginning everywhere with flora and fauna in abundance.  Your senses become tantalized as the lovely sights and aromas of the surroundings become alive in the warm spring sunshine.  You feel absolutely wonderful with a powerful desire to experience everything that Mother Nature has to offer.  Sometimes you stop, just to appreciate everything around you and then you continue on your way.  You may not know exactly where the trail will take you but it does not really matter, as it is one of life’s adventures.  The reward in front of you is far more precious as it will become a memory of today.  The powerful image has no monetary value but is far more prized as it becomes a part of you and will last a lifetime.
